MCH123: Persuasion in the Media

Course Description: 
This course discusses the concept, nature, and functions of persuasion in the media and in everyday life. Theory, principles, and tactics by which persuasive messages are developed and conveyed will also be examined.

Course Objectives: 
To provide students with an understanding of:
1) The principles of persuasion in the media
2) How persuasive messages are developed and conveyed
3) The construction of persuasive campaigns

Learning Outcomes: 
Students will be able to:
1) Recognize and critically analyse persuasive attempts
2) Apply the theories of persuasion in the media
3) Generate media strategies in a positive form of persuasion


Prerequisite:  
MCH 101 Introduction to Mass Communication
